Let’s revisit altered states of consciousness and their differences. Turn your mediocre mindset into an abundant successful one with ONE healthy decision.  I have covered my experiences with trance  and higher consciousness in previous posts. We are exploring altered mindsets to take advantage of the power they can bring to our daily lives. Shall we make a start?

We typically go about our lives with a stagnant mindset that has developed from childhood. This mindset is training to giveALTERED STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS DEFINITION us a mediocre lifestyle. The lifestyle our parents and most of the people we know and associate with believe we need to study to get a formal education which will give us the skills to pursue our best job opportunities. Do you agree?

Unfortunately the masses pursue this path, pretty well working until the day they die, in order to put food on the table and provide for our families as best we can. We are not remotely aware of any other way, the how to create and pursue an abundant free lifestyle. This is not your fault. Sad isn’t it?

Occasionally, people spend a moment or two thinking there must be a better way, have no idea where to start and the healthy thoughts drift away. Has this happened to you?

We can create a mindset that serves us better. To make a start we need to have a powerful reason to start. What would be a powerful enough reason for us to move from stagnation to celebrating our lives. Here are a few goals of mine to help you in the right direction.  These are powerful motivators to keep me focused.

20-25 metre Lapping Pool at home to maintain my fitness, take my husband to an Andre Rieu Concert in Europe, take my husband on the Blue Train in Africa and check out a Big 5 Safari, a regular month long Caravan Trip exploring Australia, Buy my Mercmobile

Make a list for yourselves and share below, in a comment.  Write it down on paper.

Once we have our powerful motivators we need a vehicle to earn the dollars. What vehicle can you think of? After exploring three different ideas and failing through lack of experience and no training I discovered an Online Affiliate Marketing program with a full Training Facility that is proven and works. VOILA VEHICLE FOUND.

Now I had a vehicle I knew I had to stay decided on my new path. I had no excuse and my powerful motivating goals loomed a little closer. I could see them, feel them and taste them. All I had to do was to get them in my pocket literally!!

Surround yourself with like-minded people, training that works and a community that will hold your hand and help you out.  ITS TIME!

Now I’m a raw beginner at this so how was I to grab a hold of the mindset and what was it really? It didn’t take long for me to realise I needed to learn the skills required with affiliate marketing, surround myself with like-minded people and keep my eyes open for a mentor. Do you see the support network building? I also researched, read and chatted with people, in forums, watched training videos related to my path and I thrive on quotes from successful people.

I asked myself, what sets them apart from me? Nothing! They started where I started in life except for the silver spooners. Some successful entrepreneurs in the world are often as young as teenagers through to 25 years. Why not me? I’m not going to stand by and watch these young ones show me up!

In this phase, and for that matter all the way through to completion, we are creating a new winning mindset. Do you understand what I mean?

Do this, never give up, work harder than you have for a boss, work harder than you have in your entire life and the rewards are yours. We need to live, breathe and work our businesses consistently for as long as it takes.

Get rich quick is not a successful mindset because it doesn’t happen. Apart from Lotto.

I have let my friends know that socialising is taking second place for now. A quick get together for a coffee or a phone call is all the time I have. The one social activity I continue with is lawn bowls two nights a week. I get exercise, laugh and relax and this keeps me connected and sane.

This “dig in” attitude is the attitude of winners who are successful, abundant and have freed themselves from forever being slave to the almighty dollar. We need to make sacrifices if we truly want out of a mediocre lifestyle.

Are we prepared to make the necessary sacrifices to develop a successful and abundant mindset? I sure am, what about you? Do you know what, even though I am working harder than I have in my entire life, I feel purpose driven, my life is meaningful and I am happier and more fulfilled. How’s that for rewards along the way? Precious I say.

Gratefulness somehow gives this journey to an abundant mindset more depth. I am grateful I finally had the courage to do what I want to do no matter what anyone thinks. Along the way the next step is always presented to me, literally put in front of me and I follow. I don’t even have to work out what to do next.

I am grateful for finding the perfect vehicle, the training and the community support to hold my hand and help me out. It is important to be grateful for what we already have in order to bring more to be grateful for into our lives. I am grateful for my health, my comfortable dry bed and my air-conditioned office. Think about it? What are you grateful for that you already have and perhaps take for granted?

I changed my mindset from complacency, laziness and stagnation to being a “go getter” and having a mind set of “my goals are already mine”. All I have to do is take massive action and make amazing things happen. I invite you to join me! Remember these quotes: “Nothing changes if nothing changes” and “If we keep doing what we always do, we will keep getting the same results”. In this case a mediocre life. Are you going to settle for this?

  1. I’ve looked into this topic before and i find it pretty interesting. I have been looking for my own vehicle to be able to live the kind of life I want instead of working a 9-5 and lining someone else’s pockets, and your website gives advice on that very issue. It also highlights the “trained” mindset and I know how difficult it can be to break out of that.

    1. Hi Catherine,  Thank you for contributing to the conversation.  Yes it is challenging to break out of the mould, so to speak.  Believe me, it is worth being courageous, putting our toes in the water and having a go.  We find the water is so cool and refreshing we jump in with glee.  I thoroughly recommend Wealthy Affiliates.  Again, once I jumped in I have not looked back.  I am on my way to help others and in turn, they help others and many lives are enhanced.  Great journey to take.  Cheers Jill

  2. Hi Jill
What a great article about mindset and importance of it to change our destiny. I am thankful for coming across your article.
I can not agree more. You say we can not change the outcome of what we do without identifying why we do it. The reason needs to be strong otherwise we eventually give up. What a strong concept. And, also we need to do things differently to see a different outcome, let’s say an achievement. Perfect!

I liked to learn about Wealthy Affiliate system. Do you recommend it for someone with no IT background? While the mindset to be successful there must be important, does the system offer a helping hand to resolve any ”hiccups”?
    I appreciate your thoughts.
Best wishes and I am glad I came across your site.

    1. Hi there,  Thank you for contributing to the conversation.  Yes I recommend Wealthy Affiliates to people who have zilch IT background.  I was one of those people!  Yes the Wealthy Affiliate Community has got our backs.  They will answer questions, steer you to the right training and literally hold your hand to help you progress.  Surrounding ourselves with like-minded people is a huge plus.  Lovely to hear from you and I hope I was able to help you out.   Cheers Jill

    1. Hi Divican, Thank you for joining the conversation.  I’m not sure what you mean by a program that will settle your business online.  If you are referring to a personal development program, I suggest you do this quiz to gain more insight into what would work for you.  Here is the link:…  Thanks again and happy days.  Cheers Jill

  4. What a beautiful and complete article. and you’re absolutely right »if you don’t change anything, nothing happens and everything stays the same. For Wealthy Affiliate you have to start thinking differently … not focus on first sale … After how much time did you have a sale? Thank you for sharing this article and I wish you good luck.

    1. Hi Nelly,  Thank you for contributing to the conversation and sharing your views.  Yes, we learn to think differently. Outside the social norms and become independent liberated adults.  Great place to be!  Cheers, Jill

  5. Hello, JILL

you’ve given a lot of helpful tips and suggestions. I’m really glad to read your valuable informative article. I really appreciate your article. I agree with You.

I think that From the standpoint of self-actualization, peak performance, and personal development, adopting a growth mindset is a necessary prerequisite.

All available research suggests that skills and talents are developed through repetition and consistent practice.

After identifying and refuting the fixed-mindset voice, taking the growth-oriented action, again and again, is the key to changing your mindset.

It doesn’t happen overnight, but through repeated, deliberate practice, new skills are born.

Each noticeable improve becomes one more reference point of your capacity to change and growth.

Thank You so much for your excellent article.

    1. Hi Mehedi,  Thank you for joining the conversation and contributing. You are so right! By taking massive action, we can make amazing things happen.  Our reference points begin to pile up and we hit peak performance.  Consistent action daily brings us closer to rewards.  Great way to live!  Cheers Jill

  6. I have been trying to change this mindset of having a 9-5 job for 50 years and then being told that I can stop and now retire. I have so many things that I want to do with my life and working a job is not one of them. I’ve realized that the best way for me to achieve this is by having different avenues of revenue coming in.

i still have a job but I have started to gain some passive income through a pension. Not enough to retire on, but it’s a start.

Having the freedom to work from wherever I want sounds great to me. I like the idea of affiliate marketing and working wherever there’s an internet connection.  Now that you have changed your mindset. How has your life changed and are you seeing new opportunities open up?

    1. Hi David,  Thank you for joining the conversation.  Yes I too was challenged to break out of the mediocre lifestyle.  Once i gathered the courage to take the first step, it has been snowballing and getting better and better.  I now feel motivated, enthusiastic to see what is around the next corner and opportunities are starting to open up around me.   I have a strong Wealthy Affiliates community behind me and they hold my hand through the tough stuff.

I have changed to a woman who knows where I am going, I have abundant energy to keep the ball rolling, I take massive action daily and am happier than I have ever been.  It is amazing to be independent and thinking with clarity by taking responsibility for myself and consequently my life.  Just beautiful.

You, my friend are on the way too, by simply questioning the old and embracing the new.  Bravo!

      Cheers Jill
